Will a faster video card help WindowBlinds and Dreams performance?

I'm considering upgrading my video card.  I currently have a 6600GT (128 megs) and Aero displays just fine (Vista graphics score 5.5). However, would I get noticeably better desktop performance with a newer card with more ram? I'm not talking about 3d gaming. I mean WindowBlinds and Dreams performance (faster redraws & lower cpu utilization).  TIA

I would do it... I just bought an 8800 from NewEgg.com a few months ago... it has made all the difference... things like object dock seem to work better, windowblinds works better... Hyperpaint wouldn't work before... but now it does... it seems to have actually made my computer alot faster overall... but I upgraded from a standard video card, with no acceleration... so who knows... but I think you'll notice a difference too though... I also upgraded to Vista as well about a month ago... I'm not suggesting you do that, or not... but Direct X 10 made games alot better.... can't use window FX right now though :( ... but we'll see...

oh yeah... I didn't do the dreams thing before I upgraded... but I would assume the video ram would make the dreams run perfect... I only have a single core processor, but I still run the dreams at full performance, and notice no slow down whatsoever it's like have a standard non-moving wallpaper... I'm sure it's because of the video card... I have several docks from object dock, desktop x widgets, windowblinds, and cursorfx all running... with no slow down whatsoever... and I notice no slow down with transparency, alpha blending, or pep-pixel skin borders... it's great...

It sure will help your performance. If you dont want to spend too much, you could try Nvidia G Force, they have a few inexpensive video cards that will definetely make an improvement...
