Earning Achievements in Saved Game?

     I won a game as Advent playing against 4 Hard Ai and have been trying to get achievements since, at this point,  that is all there is to do in the game. Now, I wiped out the pirates and colonized their base.  Great. I should get the Pirate Baron achievement.  But no, it says I did not get it in the achievements list.  Why??  Is it because the game said I had attained "Victory" before I went for the Pirate Base?  I tried for other achievements like having all the Advent cap ships at the same time, but that didnt register either.  What is going on with the game?  Do I have to start a new game or go to an earlier pre-Victory save game?  Has anyone encountered this before?

I went back and loaded a saved game from before I got Victory. Then I colonized the Pirate Base and voila! I received the Pirate Baron achievement. So apparently you have to do your achievements BEFORE you win the game. You cant do it after it says "do you want to continue playing".

Had this same issue. Really got annoying when beating the four hard AI players. I allied compeltely with a couple with the intent to betyray them in the end. We killed the other two and it said victory, so i kept playing, betrayed them and won... and I didn't get. had to do it all over and break alliances early.

Wow, I would hate that. I just locked teams and went at them one at a time. That way they probably wouldn't gang up on me.
