How does the game determine who they are voting for. Granted I know the higher your approval rating is the more votes/senate seats your party gets but how are the others determined? I noticed during times of war the War Party is usually 2nd behind me (my party has never lost control of the government), is this a factor?

Hmmm...I dont know, and I also dont recall ever seeing a post about this. I guess it doesnt matter a whole lot in terms of playing the game, as long as your party wins. But I am curious...

Sentient species taste better...

I've long been curious about this as well. I *suspect* that the vote somehow reflects the state of your game, but sometimes it seems really random, like the Mercantile party coming in a strong second even though trade is brisk and no other empire's economy is nowhere close to the size of ours.
