UV, texturing, principles, validation, features...

The following should be directed at Morgemil & Boogiebac or anybody
else in the knowledge of specific technical issues with the graphic
engine & its plentiful features.
Firstly...
The Stars and how their surfaces are getting animated through UV layers and texture files is getting me completely boggled up and mentally absorbed - weird & wacky!
I simply don't get it even if i extensively tested a high number of values, conditions, modded files, etc.
Noise1 & Noise2 (Pattern & Density, i guess), Tilts of Rings or Moons, orbits, paths, and what else. Minimums & maximums.
This whole complex system is quite oblivious to my scrutiny and any experimental attempts i may have tried over the last few months.
What i'd really need (or for anyone else) is some sort of thorough SD staff's primer on the exact gameplay principles which can be altered or not. How things work and what values are considered effective or moddable.
Secondly...
The very same type of reasons should also be applied to the UV texture mapping or 3D modeling framework for Ships & related components, btw.
So... please, help us Modders!
