Well what started as a collection of Star Ships is becoming a full fledge MOD. So here you go.

Major Races:
United Federation of Planets
Klingon Empire
Romulan Star Empire
Lyran Star Empire
Hydran Kingdom
Gorn Confederacy
Interstellar Concordium
Kzinti Hegemony
Tholian Holdfast

Minor Races:
Orion Pirates
WYN Star Cluster
Lyran Democratic Republic

Each race will have their own Tech Tree based upon their technologies from Star Fleet Universe games.
Each major race will have a player usable ship style so you will start the game with the correct vessels.

I'd like to see if I can change the Dread Lords to the Andromedan Invaders. It makes sense if you know the story line. Is it possible to edit Major Events?

Anything else you guys want?
Fair warning though... be careful what you select for these races' Portraits - cuz, SD doesn't allow Actors_Celebrities images (specially from Paramount' copyrights!) in their local library.

The Star-Trek property is & has been a tricky concept to upload here, for months & even years!

PS: Which is exactly why i will be using 'Ships pictures" only to represent the wanted Minors within the CoSH mod. Borg, Klingon, Romulan, Nomad, etc.
Got that covered already.

1) Yes and no. Code driven events just pop up, their effects or verbose can be modded though.

2) Use your imagination and surprise us all! :)

Right that is kinda what I wanted. I wanted the Dread Lord event happen but the Andromedan Invaders would appear in their place.
I assume you can have a custom video trigger instead of the dread lords ones.
perhaps some one from the sfc or bridge commander community will let you use an in game video of their Andromedan mod ships?

Either way, look forward to more work from you.

I just want to add my voice to the chorus of amazing and thanks. It has been a few weeks since I have played so I only have used the V1 Fed ships, but look forward to using the others. Keep up the good work and I would love to use the new tech trees.

Tried to upload 3rd Edition of Federation Ships. Seemed to run into a problem I'll try again. soon.
Ok 3rd Edition awaiting approval. This will have the player useable shipstyle so you get the Republic class; Prospector class; and Mayflower class in the beginning of the game:

Interestingly the Republic will appear with no engines or survey sensor but it has those attributes still. So it will explore anomolies. So don't get worried you didn't start with a blank ship. This is fine for me anyway since I alwasy shrink ship components anyway so you can't see them.

Here is the Medussa class. A classified vessel carrying spores. Chances are you will never use this as human/terran you'd have to trade the technology:

Here is the Mayflower colony ship:

And here is federation shuttle:

This package of ships has 26 vessels in it.

Until I did some research I thought the popular Klingon Bird of Prey was a Klingon Design. What I found were two explanations on why the Klingons have them. 1. The Romulans traded them to the Klingons during there short alliance. Much to the Romulan dismay the Klingons liked them . . . ALOT and expanded on the design. 2. The Klingons stole the Bird of Prey and then expanded the design.

From my memory or F&E and the erlier games - Romulans invented cloaking tech. Romulans didn't invent warp drives so had old Klingon D7 cruisers traded to them along with extra warp drives that they fitted to their warbirds. Giving Romulans warp drive capable ships and engines drew Federation ships away from the klingon border. I can't remember if Klingons ever had cloak in F&E or it was from the Star Trek universe (films and series etc). Need more beer to jog my memory........

However would seem reasonable that they received some cloak ability at the time of the warp trade.
You are correct. I believe they called it "Tactical Warp". Romulans got better warships and the Klingons got the cloak.
However if some trekkie out there can answer this, have you ever seen a Klingon ship other then the Bird of Prey, cloak?
Klingons got the cloak from the Romulans. This was in FASA but not in Star Fleet Universe.

what i thought that the Romulans got warp drive from the vulcans after thier civil war

Klingons cloaked most if not all of their ships in TNG onwards.
From what I understand cloak was traded for Warp, though the Klinks gave the Roms some of their most outdated hulls in the deal.

However, the Roms surprised everyone by the quality of the retrofits they did to the Klink Hulls

If my memory serves me the history in the federation and Empires game book says that the Romulans dont have Tactical warp at the onset of the General war which means they cant fight at warp repesented by the fact that the bird of pry in the balance of terror episode could not fight at warp and there are examples of the Enterpise being able to do that. The alliance or "Colilition" between the Romulans and the Klingons/Lyran empires was that the Klingons gave the Romulans a bunch of old D6 cruisers and three B10 advanced battle cruisers in turn for opening up a second front on the Federation. I think the Romulans developed tactical warp on their own as a part of their crash course program to get their fleet up to par with the Alliance of the Federation, Gorn and Kizinti but the Klingons might of helped with that. But yes the Romulans do an excellent job beefing up the weapons on the D6's they get with Romulan plasma weapons.

There is no mention of the Klingons ever getting the cloak, not even in the show, they didn't even have the cloak as far up as Star trek II not until the BoP in III is it ever mentioned. I think it was needed for IV cause they needed to be able to hide the ship when they got to Earth in the Past, I don't think a few branches would have done, especial considering the Enterprise had been detected back in the 60's.

Personally I never liked seeing the Klingons get the cloak, they were the D cruisers people, the Bird of Prey was so NOT in keepings with what they had been when they were the Empire of Steel. Old Gene, god bless his soul, could be as bad as Lucus with regards to changing history to fit his needs. I never liked the reinvention of the Klingons for the TNG sucked with there whole barbarain samuri clan thing. They were suposed to be the Russians in space, I liked that had a nice little cold war feel going on, which ment that they had big bulky steel loving battlecruisers like the D6/7 which was a excellent design almost as amazing as the good old Constitution class starship. But that is just me, I know alot of people out there like the TNG view of the Universe, me I am Starfleet Universe and TOS all the way.

This is from Internet Movie Database trivia section concerning Star Trek 3 where the Bird of Prey makes its first appearance:

The villains of the film were originally intended to be Romulans, but upper studio management wanted Klingons to be used since they were better-known enemies. By the time the decision was made, the Romulan ship was already built and they did not want the expense of replacing it. However, since the TV show had already established that the Klingons and Romulans had shared technologies and ships in the past (for exactly the same real-world cost-cutting reasons), the idea of Klingons using a Romulan-style vessel was not a problem.

Still think its dumb to think that the Klingons would make a stolen Bird of Prey design the predominant ship design of their fleet for over a hundred years or that the Romulans would abandon the bird or prey design just because the klingons got it.

Its kind of weird in a way they swapped, the Klingons use mostly BoPs in the 24th century and the Romulans use warbirds that are like, in function, to the D class cruisers???

So getting back of forum track, I will never use the BoP if I play as the Klingons, its all D cruisers for me, go big and powerful (Long Live the Empire of Steel). Let the Romulans use the hit and run tactics ,ie the cloak and their BoP designs. But I am old school like that, I could see you going either way because of the Klingon BoP die hard fans out their. I guess it also depends on how much you want to make this mod resemble the Starfleet Universe (Federation and Empires) or not?
The first time I started to work on the Klingon ship package there were not any Birds of Prey. But for the sake of some fans I included them. For your sake, AggieJohn with the new player useable shipstyles I will make sure that the starting "flagship" will not be a BoP.

Also since I'm waiting for approval on the 3rd Edition of the Fed ships I changed the look of my Prospector class mining ship:

I didn't like the first one I uploaded.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE FEDERATION SHIPS ON LIBRARY. ITS THE WRONG VERSION. I'LL COMMENT ON THIS FORUM WHEN ITS THE CORRECT ONE.

Okay?
Ok, the correct file for the Federation Ships are awaiting approval. It will be titled: SF Federation Vessels 3rd Edition. This one is good for download.

Ok now to fix the Klingons. I'll be adding 2 tiny hulls, 1 medium hull, 1 huge hull, and 5 cargo hulls. So there will be 18 klingon ships total.

Hello AF Ronin: First of, I would like to say that you have done a fantastic job on the ships. You have a hard core Trekor here. Was a boy watching the very first show of the orginal series. As a avid gamer, I began with the very basic Zocchi game and models. Moved to Star Fleet Battles and the miniature gaming, untill the rule book got to be about 10 pounds. Still love to set up and play Federation and Empire. Even had FASA's Combat Simulator and miniatures. Untill they ran into copyright problems. I got to thinking on how it would be nice to see Star Trek items in this game. And here you show up. Been having a ball playing with your ships. And you have provided me with the insperation to make a few of my own. Would like to share them with you. I have made some Gorn and Klingon ships. The Gorn are based off of your Light Cruiser design. I made a Freighter/Tug and a Medium Weight Troop Carrier. It can hold either 1,000 Legions or 4,000. Depending which pods you are using In SFB, the Gorn Tugs were suppost to be based off the CA class, but looked more like a CL in the setup. Added two hook/claws on each wing and a center one that would be on a extending boom. The center one would pull a saucer shaped pod. The design could also be used as a FPS Tender, when added as part of a FPS Fleet. Just leave the side hooks bare. My Klingon ships are based off the Reconition Manual. Made the T-5 Assault Ship. Was not intended, but it does look a lot like your D-7. D-16 Destroyer, and K-4 Gunboat. I am still trying to figure out how to double stack the engine units like you have. Mine are always offset, no matter what I do. Perhaps you can show me the "trade secret". Let me know if you are interested in seeing the ships. Can't wait to see what you will have for the Tholians. Russ
Reply #73 Top
to do the double stack engines I use two of those triangular shaped extension girders. I attach one one to the top of one of the engine pieces, flip the girder. Add the second girder and then the second engine attached to the girder. Takes a little rotation and shrinking of the extension pieces but it makes the right look.

Anyway yes, I'd love to see your ships. And though I may tweak a few I'd add them to the new editions. Send me your gorn and klingon ships: Zip the files and send to my e-mail which is in the private message I sent you.

Hey Guys: For starters, You are correct in that when the Kingons were added to the show. They were ment to be patterned after the Russians as we knew them during the Cold War. Many thought that when the Romulans appeared, that they were suppost to be the Chinese with a Roman like cover. Roddenberry just wanted another "Bad-guy" race. So he would not over use the Klingons. He never had the money to do the makeup as he wanted for the Klingons in the orginal show. Thus the big change when he did the movie. The Enterprise Series, did a nice explaination as to why there were Human-like Klingons. (genetic misshap) In the orginal show, is when you find out that the Klingons and Romulans joined in a teaty. This happens as the Enterprise steals the cloaking device from the Romulans. The Romulans get the ships, Warp Drive and other tech help. We were never sure what the Kingons got. But it was assumed the cloak was one item. It was established that the Romulans had installed fail-safe items in the cloak. Only they could make it work properly. Other than Scotty of course. It was established in the orginal show that the Feds were masters of the Phasers, Science, and Photon torpedos. Kingon's were masters of Disruptors and warships. Romulan's the cloak and plasma torps. This was slowly eroded over time with the tv shows and movies. The same could be applied to Star Fleet Battles and other "Trek" games. Till all the tech was mixed and confused. And hard to establish who had what and when. The Bird of Prey is the best example of that. It is suppost to be a Romulan ship that was sold to the Klingons. That was the explination given to why it showed up in ST 3. The Romulans were suppost to be the villians in the movie. But again, it came down to money for the studio and with all the Klingon costumes sitting around.... Thus the Bird of Prey became a Klingon symbol. As for the cloak.....well it fit in nice with the sneaky bad guy ways of the Kingons. So it stuck, with no clear explaination as to how the Klingons got it. It has been established that the Fed's tried several times to make a working one and failed and the one that Kirk stole, destroyed itself when tried again later on. Again, only Scotty would seem to know how to work it. It was also refered in the shows that one item in the continuing teaty talks with the Romulans. Was that the Fed's dont build any cloaks. Thus the Reliant was the first offical Fed ship with a cloak. And that cloak came from the Romulans. I hope this helps you guys with questions. I guess it pays now and then to be a "old Fart" Having been there at the start of the Star Trek craze. Russ
