9-5 Gaming: Xbox is a dirty boy.

I honestly don’t know what my title means so don’t go looking for any justification save for hidden frustration and fear that my own Xbox will randomly die on me someday.

You might not have known but the company Alcatel-Lucent has been suing Xbox makers Microsoft for the tune of about 419 million dollars for patent infringement on the DvD components of the Xbox 360. As one would expect not only did MS fight this they also countered sued for 11.5 million dollars of their own patenting. In the end a jury tossed the whole stupid thing. Here is the funny part:

Microsoft VP and deputy general council said in a statement to the  Bloomberg report, "This case demonstrates Microsoft's commitment to protect its customers, its partners, as well as the company's intellectual property."

Did anyone not think that MS had people in the wings with pitchforks and torches on stand by at ALL TIMES just in case the wind blew a little too hard from someone that might want a huge piece of the pie? MS has been looking for ways to sue under age software pirates working along side Sony in legal battles for years on some of those cases. This isn’t really news.

What’s really news is that it’s funny they THINK its news.
