Bonus Tiles with editors?

Sorry if this is a common question, but I couldn't find an answer in any of the stickies or with a forum search, but has anyone figured out a way to customize the tiles on a planet? Like add bonus tiles and such?

There is no easy way to add them, certainly not with the editors. Someone found out how to edit the savegame to customize them, but I can't seem to find the thread.

I believe that thread was deleted as it is possible that the steps to editing to achieve the tile customization also provided a way to edit the score of your game in such a way that the MV does not pick up.

For examples of such "possible" edits look at Spacetimer and DJMDB in the MV rankings.
