Returning Armada

I am looking for some clarification on how returning armada works in accordance to the research required to unlock different ship designs. If you race up to the returning armada research without investing any time into the warfare tree, will returning armada still produce ship designs that you have not yet researched? And if it does, will whether or not you have researched those ship designs effect the amount of those ships that returning armada produces?

It will produce Assailants, Skirmishers, Carriers, Sentinels, and Enforcers (did I miss any ships?) regardless of whether or not you researched the techs for them.

Centurion is correct. I have had RA give me Enforcers before I had actually researched it several times before (against the AI). I also don't believe that the ratio is affected by what you tech. It does not give you either of the support ships though, so you have to build those on your own.

We'll that is pretty stupid that I could rush up to returning armada and be able to get ships that I would have to research to normally have access to. Thank you for clarifying, I just have never had returning armada without having all the ship types researched before.
