more 4X DEPTH please :)

I'd like to see some more DEPTH like from Galactic Civilizations in such things like adding the availability of building SEVERAL different types of structures instead of just a few that add different kinds of bonuses to Planets or an EMPIRE

I'd also like to see the ability to interchange between the amount of logistic slots and tactical slots per planet just in case you'd like to make certain choke point planets absolutely fortified but at the cost of sacrificing its logistic slots down to a minimum of just the resource asteroids surrounding the planet

Please add the ability to either have an increased variety in ships or to be able to design your own ships like in Galactic Civilizations

Make the Diplomacy more in depth like in Galactic Civilizations with having annual tributes treaties, being able to Give Planets away or territories directly to other empires and also being able to have a mail system for resource trading so that the fluctuating economy doesn't of the Human Player you give money/resources to shows a concrete reflection of you ACTUALLY giving a desired amount

Also there is a KEY STRATEGIC variable missing in this game, and that is the ability to have and or use spies to do sabotoge and espionage (these strengths should vary per RACE) as well as having Security and security technologies to counter these attacks and root out the empires conducting these activities and to top that off having some time based annual Intelligence reports presented to help monitor activity within the Empire

**when i give someone 1000 metal they tell me it shows that they only received like a total of 200 metal, this can lead to lack of trust and even worse an avoidable WAR!!!

You do realize that many of these things could lead to longer games, something the MP crowd doesn't really want. Certainly more variety in the diplomecy etc would be nice, but I personally like the current tactical/logistical differentiation. It does need to be "Real time" as well.

Also, as fun as making custom ships might be, balancing them properly so as to avoid massive imbalances would be quite difficult I'd think.

Although certainly, the lack of any ability to give units/planets is one of the things I find most annoying about the game (especially since it means that when someone has to leave they can't simply give all to an ally, but rather that you get stuck with a brain dead AI >.<)

It is a shame, though, since the single player crowd doesn't have much meat to bite into.

I too was hoping for greater meaning in diplomacy and so forth. Just doesn't feel entirely 4x as say, a game like EU is.

Right. Galatic Civilizations 2 is that way --------->

You are playing Sins of a Solar Empire, a RTS game.

You want more 4X Depth?? Go play a 4X game.

actually sins was always "suppose to be" and "marketed as" 4X rts.
you guys are definitely correct:
gc2 == 4x
sin == very slow rts :P

ironclad does have a good base for THE game, though.
so kudos to them.
sadly, sins isn't it yet.

(for a true battle space sim, try hw2.
add complex mod, for "epicness".
i hope this steatement doesn't the trigger post-deletion.)

maybe SINS is just testing for something to put in galactic civ 2.

Thanks for the beta experience Dev's. Give us the campaign already!

yea thats a good way to put it, SINS = SLOW RTS, rather than a 4X + RTS mix thats i was hoping for and was ranted about it being ...

Sorry GABAL but this was advertised as a mix of the two genre's, instead its more a Supreme Commander type slow paced RTS, maybe logistics should be for fleet sizes and NOT for the ABSOLUTE ships allowed like in Galactic Civilizations

Options should make the game playable in multiplayer for more RTS based fans and more playable for more RTS/4X based fans, sighhhhhhhhhh when will my dream of a Masters of Orion/Galactic Civilizations game being mixed with a Command & Conquer (NOT WARCRAFT, because of logistics) game be unveiled ... :(

Planetary Invasions would be fun. Nothing says I hate you more than dropping a couple hundred thousand angry T.E.C. Marines onto an enemy world.
