Well this has truely been a long, long week for myself. And I'm sure a lot of other people too. This week was out county's fair week. It was actually quite not-so fun this year like it has been in the past. I don't know why though. But at least the food was decent. Especially a medium fry with cheese caked on them! That was practically my food for the day almost everyday. Ok, not really healthy, but what can i say!? They were extremely good! You can't beat the cheese dude! Anyways......
Monday I had my Dairy/market goat show. Well first up was showmanship. For those of you who don't know......it's a class in which are divided up into i think five diff. age groups. Well you pick one of your goats to show and you go in there and show it based on how clean the goat is, it's feet are trimmed, and the hair is groomed/cut properly. Also, it's based on how well your animal cooperates with you and if it will stay in set possition. Well my mom gave me the bright idea of telling me to show my oldest, more experienced show goat to take in for that class. Ok, so i'm thinking, yeah! Good pick. She knows how to act. Well I get in there and she won't set up for me. And some kid infront of me kept backing up into her making her jump! Ugh! I wanted to kill that kid! lol. So, turns out I didn't get anything for that class.
Then I take the same goat in again for her milking class, since she's a milking doe. Well her udder sucks, big time. So I didn't place in that class either. Then I take in my meat doe. She doesn't place either. Finally my last class. Whew! Almost done! Last class, my market goat class. I took a look at the other goats in my class. I'm thinking, oh great almost all these goats look extremely better than mine. Well turns out i placed 5th. Which is also the last place in the class. So i got to sell my goat individfually instead of in a group and I got $450. Good deal!
Then Tuesday I had my pygmy goat show. I take in my pygmy doe for showmanship! Guess what.....I got first place out of like 20 kids! I was happy, so then I got to move onto showman of showman class and took 2nd! So there I ended up with two trophies! Yeah dude! Then I took in my little pygmy wether for his class. I got third place along with a third place ribbon. Then I took my doe back in for her breeding class and she placed first. So i got to go back in for the announcing of the grand champion and reserve grand champion of the senior doe class. I got Grand Champion. So then I had to go back in for the annoucing of the Overall Grand and Reserve Champions of the Senior and Jr. Doe Classes. I ended up with Overall Reserve Grand Champion!! I was so totally shocked big time! I was so happy! My 4-H advisors were jumping up and down like crazy!(two women of course. lol) And my mom had just gotten off of work and was able to make it in time to see me get placed as reserve grand champ. It was great! So yeah, that was a great day. I placed every time i showed! So awesome!
Then the rest of the week was so boring. Nothing to do. I did watch Jessica's rabbit show on Thursday. That took a long time! But she didn't place. She'll get 'em next year though. I just know it!
Then i found out that Alex's brother, Christian, took 4th in his Steer class. Which is really great. Tomorrow is the last day....well actually today since it's 2:00am. My goats will be going home later today.
