Finally

Today I finally managed to get my noob title removed as I got good enough to stomp Hard AI comp even if it took me 4 hours in a 1v1. Vasari is definitely the way to go, after you get RA. It was fun to finish him off with Fleet size capped and I got myself an achievment for using every point. Now to take on Unfair

Depends on your play style, I prefer TEC over Vasari and I'm an Advent player. GJ though!

Just keep in mind that getting RA up and humming when you're playing online multiplayer is easier said than done, especially if you're on the wrong type of map for it. Also, your human opponents (unlike AI) will all be very aware of the Vasari's potential to go RA and they'll do what they can to prevent you from attaining RA. You'll also be vulnerable while you spend your resources building Imperial Labs and Phase Gates (dead give away to your opponents) and doing the research. Also, the Vasari's ships are relatively expensive, both in terms of credits, metal, and crystal and in terms of fleet supply points, so, IMHO, being able to get RA is the only reason to play Vasari. If you have to fight a competent TEC or Advent player early on you could get crushed. The risk can be high and the rewards can be great.
