Texture Help

Trying to Make a custom component in 3DSMax

Hey all, newcomer here.

I'm making a few custom components in Max, and so far everything has been going well, I set up the hardpoints, got it to .X, Got it In-game, everything is working wonderfully.
I just have one snag now, and that is I can't figure out how to define what areas on the Texture get changed with each Race Color.
Any help with this is appreciated.

As I recall, the game's coloring is mased on the submaterials: 0 is base, 1 is trim, and 2 is engine.
