Can an event have multiple bonuses/negatives or both

I have decided that I think it stinks that evil gets all the best in the game for events, and neutral gets the 2nd best. I dont understand why making good decisions is so harsh, after all, not every good decision has to hurt! So as i look the XML file on events, I was curious if its possible to use in the lines for good/neurtal/evil option 2 or more command lines ie. like a (=[GOODVALUE)% Research bonus and then perhaps a negative if applicable or even a double postive(which of course could be on all alignments not merely good)? Lets use the polar ice caps event:

Ok this is the event I want to change and what I was thinking it could be is"(changes are in blue):

So essentially what I am doing or want to do is that the productivity penalty stays, but they will be able to make a little bc by selling Ice cubes(lame I know, but it made me laugh) First is this possible? Second what would the proper format be if any? Im guessing that since they didnt do events like this, that it is prolly not possible. I also checked in the libary for any event type stuff, and the only one in there is a picture for when an event happens. Any ideas? Thanks all!

The only combos that can be done are population change combined with something else, AFAIK other bonuses cannot be mixed.

What about --adding-- entirely new ones which would somehow get recognized once active?

Ive added the currect values, yet still get a +- in front of every value I put in. Has anyone else ever changed teh events or made new ones and they worked correctly? If so could you post here what you xml of it looks like plz.

@Macmatt - as an indirect answer to what i meant by adding some new variables or values; I'll have to plug Carielf's ModGuide (or the Wiki, btw) to expose anybody to what is somehow really possible with Events manipulation.

I read thru her mod guide especially on the event section, yet I think some info was left out. It almost looks like that good is hardcoded to have negative results, and evil only positive. I dont know why this would be, but I have messed around with both and any time you try to give "good" a positive value, it will be negative. You can give them a "neutral" or no penalty, but thats hardly positive. Evil is the opposite way...any time you try to give them a negative....nope...its a positive. I didnt see this covered in her guide. Ill check the wiki to see if there is anything...appreciate the help by the way!!

jmccrea... i am absolutely SURE that there is a way to alter these features as much as we really want to - indirectly, i found a number of workarounds for many (more like a whole lot) things while i was developing X-Worlds.
Still do, btw.

Just last week i discovered much about the DA_Terrain-Color-Schemes (Kudos to Maverick & LogicSequence, btw) and how these can be exploited to simply drop a true Heavy-Gravity tile on planets.
The only puzzle that remains about this area is the everchanging terrain name tags for the query pictures... but, i swear, unless coders fix this whole mess my mind will possibly blowup soon over the continually repetitive annoying flaws.
One more thing to either correct by ourselves or better yet, expect SD to simply finally address IT.

Of course, if Carielf could ever find the time it takes to really update the Mod-Guide (to DA & then, to TA features)... we would all be much better for it.
I think there's still a few mysteries to solve which could possibly cut our work on issues by 75%, maybe more.
Why does it have to be so complex? i dunno... but, if Kryo is an example of great source of accurate and sooooooo necessary informations - i can't see who & why else.

Life of a modder is never easy, i guess.

I gotcha Zy and appreciate the help. I wish the mod guides would be updated to, but im thinking that alot of them dont have to be as the xml didnt change much. Im still hoping that someone who has made massive changes with events will post and let me know how they did it. Ive tried everything I can think of, and nothing has worked.

And you are right, modding is never easy, but sure is fun!

P.S. Im a huge xcom fan and tried your mod but failed horribly at getting it to run...However, KUDOS for making it and Im still hopeful to get it to work! Sadly, at times, I almost need a step by step instructions to get things to work the first time lol.

The next version X-Worlds #05-F is going to be much easier to setup since it goes the "Total-Conversion" way; all anyone will ever need to do is to copy-move a single "RaceConfig.xml" file from a temporary folder to activate what they wish!

Simple, fast, efficient. No more files to edit for compatibility since i have also given everyone a comprehensive trick to adapt that stuff very easily.

Btw, about the Events... i went through that file yesterday morning and guess what, i believe i found exactly what it takes to properly set it all up:

(+[NEUTRAL]) means it is always a positive value.
([NEUTRAL)] is either Zero or ***IMPLIED*** as a negative automatically. Notice the absence of any __(-)__ ASCII character there right before the usual __[__.
Same principles also apply for EVIL and/or GOOD!!

As long as the respective tags (and numerical features or effects) are strictly compliant with the expected defaults schema, any of the newly designed values will certainly show up has defined.

:)

X-Com, all the way - baby.

OK so if I add the (+[NEUTRAL]) then good and evil can come out positive!!! Wow..cant wait to try it out!!! Im also glad to hear about the new x-worlds!!! Moving one file to raceconfig is simple and im very excited to see this!!

Once Kryo approves that VERY extensive version (Independance day is about a week long in the US, at times!), it'll be all for everyone's fun to have.

Let us know about the +(GOOD) or +(EVIL) effect, would you?

There's also the "indirect" way of reformulating any sentences to indicate there IS a sort-of double effect if a choice is made; while this isn't a true tagging of values (from multiple & highly complex choices, btw... as per Carielf mod guide mentions), it is in fact actually having some intended results if you'd phrase the descriptions in a certain manner.
