GC is a nice game, BUT

GalCiv is a very nice game, much better than MOO3 or SPIV, but we should be able to see the amount of material we have and not just money. We should be able to simply mine certain planets (and astiods) for its materials. I think its important to know the mineral riches of a planet and not just in numbers only! We should be able to mine a planets without having to build an entire civilization on every planet. In addition, it would be nice to have carriers that can be used to send waves of fighters to attack a planet or a fleet. We could develop carrier fleets that could control sectors of interest. It would be nice if each Sectors was bigger and contain elements that would make the sector become a strategic icon. This game identifies very powerful and advanced civ's. Civ's that have the capacity to destroy planets, and a few more points of interest to bring the game stratigic life would make the game a true wonder. I think (persoanlly speaking) it beats hegemonia by miles, and though the graphics are not as extravegent, they are excellent to the people who love game play rather than game beauty. Good job people! very good job! Now up the stakes and give the game strategic meaning. Place the necessary elements that are missing, such as carriers, asteriod, planet information, the ability to mine a planes and asteroids for its resources (without having to build a civ on it). This game is about galactic rule, and to touch it up in these areas - I know would cause the players you now have to spread the word even more. :d This came has really made me lick my chops for more!!!!

One thing that must be maintained is gameplay balance. You don't want to overcomplicate things - see MoO3. But I definitely like the idea of being able to mine planets without having a permanent colony. Also, I think that the strategic elements thing you mentioned will be in the free expansion pack that is coming this summer.

I don't want you to think I'm still in grama School (and I am) but I thought that balance was an issue concerning empires and there abilities, not giving the game the ideas I stated, but you guy no more about it than I do. However, in my opinion, the game is without comparison, but without stratigic life, and tactical objectives that can be determind, or develop within the course of the game, The game will get boring and lose its value. I honestly hope that you guys don't allow that to happen!
You spoke about moo3, and that game is a bunch of mess. It doesn't allow you to explor or master anything. Traveling along predefind routes it not my idea of exploration. and though its complicated yet not that complicated, but the game process makes it boring and completely distasteful. Moo3 is a complete embarrassment to Galciv, but enough of that! Thanks for the reply. You guys have done so much to make a worth while game, and though I see similarities, the changes and touches that were applied makes it all worth it.

First of all I don't know what GPL means, and second - The last thing I did was critize the game. I got the wrong idea of what I was saying. Sorry to know that?

Citizen Nebuchad,

Firsty I was apologising in advance for criticism I expected to my post. (from people who didn't get it.) Why would I be apologising for one of your's ? ;)

Secondly my post was an in joke that had nothing to do with your post but rather the thread title. It also has nothing to do with Gal Civ.

Thirdly I never said a word about you or your post.

Fourthly I understood your post.

Aside from that you got just about everything. ;)

But if you would - please tell me what do I do when my turn button sticks? I tried starting it over again, and I do have the 103a patch installed, but since that installment, the game began sticking. I know I you meant well and the bag is certainly on me, but tell me anyway! I have played a game with such depth since MAX. I would appreciate the feed back!

I never seem to get that sticking problem but I've seen on this forum that if you click on something that brings up a different screen that sometimes that unsticks things.

And no problem about the above misunderstanding. I knew you didn't understand my post. ;)

I've found that what happens is a user has the colonize planet screen open or planet screen open. It's not sticking so much as waiting for a user's action.
