I have some suggestions, please read.

In the next patch, or another after it, would it be at all possible to add a option to see the entire galaxy you are in without any grayed out parts? Just an option, so then hardcore players don't have to have it on. I would really like to learn how to play without having to explore. And then when I get better, I will turn the option off. It would be really nice for us newbies :).

You can modify the ".SHIP" files in your GalCiv's "Data" directory and give your ships larger sensor ranges if you want. I suggest you modify the Scouts in "CoreShips.SHIP" to minimize the impact on the AI, if there was any to begin with at all.
