Join Empire Problem

How can I join an Empire?
I press "Join" but I cannot see my name in the list (even if I press "refresh").
I press "join", it says that I have joined the empire and also when I press "my empire" it takes in my empire, but other than that nothing else happens.

I had to first to be registered as a player. This is different from setting up your account. Go to Metaverse and there is a link at the top for "Register as a player".
