is there an alleigance cap?

im noticing that the alleigence is stuck on 35% regardless of how many broadcast centres. is that a max amount for a planet not close to your capital?

also what is more benefitial an extra broadcast centre aat 35% or a trade port.

Max allegiance is capped, based on the planet's distance from the capital planet. The lowest it can go is 25% for a planet I think ~7-8 jumps away. Culture can raise it by 10%, so you get your actual max of 35% (Advent have a tech that pushes this even higher).

Adding more broadcast centers when a planet is at max allegiance doesn't do anything other than make your culture spread outward faster, the planet itself doesn't gain any benefit (will just make it harder for hostile culture to beat yours).

Broadcast centers can only improve your allegiance by 10% over the base (decreased by distance from capital) amount.

It's capped. You can only get an extra 10% allegiance no matter how many broadcast centers you have. Even one can get you the 10%, it'll just take a little longer.

Your capital always has 100% base allegiance. You can build 5 broadcast centers, or you can build 1, and it will cap at 110% either way. Or your farthest planet has 25% base, and it can only get to 35% no matter how many you build.

wish i knew that before hand then. i could have put those resources into something more worthwhile. time for another game with my new strategy i think...

btw shouldnt things like this be explained in game.. like if u go to build a second broadcast centre it shld say. that it wont raise the alleigance higher just make it raise more quickly.
refineries are easy to understand coz u can see the quota. but theres no information about broadcast centres. or tradeports for that matter.

The higher the allegiance, the better the income.

As stated above, the Advent do get a late game upgrade that can raise the cap everywhere by 10%. Though you still need culture to get it to it's maximum.

It's worth mentioning that Advent have a tier 8 logisitics tech that has two levels and will upgrade max planet allegiance by 5% each level, so a total +10%. It's a good tech for huge empires (i.e. 8 non-asteroid planets or more).

The way it goes is without broadcast centers:

Homeworld: 100%
1 jump from HW: 90%
2 jumps from HW: 80%
3 jumps from HW: 70%
4 jumps from HW: 55%
5 jumps from HW: 40%
6+ jumps from HW: 25%
Planets available only through black holes: 25%

You can then add in your broadcast center 10% to each.
