I Just Got CursorFX and I'm having a big problem...

please read..

I heard from some friends that CursorFX was great, it had cool effects and other things. I just bought it for $19.95, hoping for a great program to add to my computer. (I have Windows Vista.) So, I buy it, and I'm trying to use and activate it, and everytime i click something or enter my e-mail and serial number and click activate, it pops up with a message saying "Stardock Product Activation has stopped working" and this happens every time I try. I've tried to restart my computer, and it still does it.

Suggestions or comments on how I can fix this? I was looking foward to a great product that I wanted to waste my $19.95 on, and I just get this, and, to be honest, I'm pissed. Please help if you can.

Hopefully this won't continue or has a way out of being fixed, or I just got ripped off $20 and I'd want it back...

Here is a screenshot of the message that pops up:

Have you tried disabling your security or firewall long enough to activate CFX? If that doesn't help,I would uninstall it,run a cleanup program like CCleaner then reboot and try to reinstall and activate it with things disabled.

You can get CCleaner here.WWW LinkAs it's name implies,it cleans the cr@p from you system.
Uninstall CFX, run the cleaner portion followed by the registry cleaner. Then reboot and try the install/activation again.
If you are unsure of what you are deleting from the registry,it's best to just remove the ones that refer to CFX.
I run it on a regular basis,as do many others. It's a great,free program.

Nobody is ripping you off. The official contact for support is to email [email protected] and start a trouble ticket. Support hours are 9am-4pm Monday through Friday. When you email support you will receive an auto-reply with a ticket number.

How are you attempting to install CursorFX?  Have you installed Impulse?

I did the support thing already, and what do you mean?
I already installed it, it instealled fine, and i can open CursorFX and the thing to activate it, but when i try to click "Apply" when i click on an effect or something, it gives me that message, and also when I'm trying to activate it, once i put in my email and serial number and right when i click "Activate" it gives me that same message. And what's impulse?

i just downloaded impulse, and i tried opening CursorFX from there, it still gives me then same message when i try doing something

okay, now, i installed impulse, and when i right clicked CursorFX and clicked "verify installation" or w/e, it said it was downloaded incorrectly, so, using impulse, i uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and now when i right click it again it says its installed correctly, but it still gives me that message when i try to do stuff

I'm glad it's working for you.I hope you find Impulse as trouble free and useful as I and others do.
Don't forget, you can make your own tabs for the dock,or add non-Stardock apps.It comes in handy whether you have ObjectDock or not.
As you no doubt have also discovered,no one is ripping you off and both Stardock and WC members are happy to help others get their software working. :D

As a bonus, you learned about CCleaner, something no computer user should be without, imho.
In answer to an earlier question,no it won't just randomly remove things, and it gives you the option to back-up your registry if you want.It hasn't messed me up yet and I'm no PC tech.(not by a long shot) ;p
