Is anyone working on a tutorial on how to modify all the DATA directory files?

everything in there is TXT files that can be loaded into notepad. I am curious.

I will be posting what I learnt about the tech, ship, imp and invtactic files from creating my website as soon as I get it all down on paper. Probably take a couple more days.
I will also attempt to come up with something for the other files as well but that might take a little longer.

That would be awesome.

I hope someone will make a list of stuff that appears to be hardcoded vs. stuff that is moddable as well.
