Terror Stars...moving/attacking.. where are they even documented besides ingame?

Hi,

 My terror star for the campaign makes for a nice paperweight. It won't move, won't attack etc... I have been reviewing this forum and I see the bug about having to have full battles on. I set that. I thought I read somewhere that it took 10 turns to activate the terror star but I can't find that post anymore.

  It would be most helpful if Terror stars were at least mentioned in the PDF.... I check my ToA directory and the pdf seems to be the same one as for Dark Avatar. Is there a ToA specific pdf? (or even FAQ or some official document that at least mentions the Terror star). I am on the last campaign mission and the traded for the techs from the Iconians.. could I be missing some earlier techs? (I have all the terror star techs in the galactopedia tree).

 

 I will keep searching the forums..   IF there is actually a ToA specific pdf could someone point me the right way? I logged into stardock before playing this mission and don't want to log in and find some upgrade that will invalidate my save game file. Thanks

did you add all the terror star components? if it can't move and you don't see a countdown to activation, my guess would be you only built the "base," without adding the other, what is it, 5 modules (?) you need for a complete terror star.

Yes, but you don't see that countdown if your at tactical zoom.

Just to confirm things.

Yes you need full battle sequences on.
Yes there is a 10 week waiting period after the 5th module beyond the initial constructor is placed (total of 6 constructors then).
Last note on the campaign mission, make sure that A) the Iconians don't have a planet in the system, if they do influence flip it and B) make sure you have a planet in another system. If you destroy that system and all your remaining planets ,you loose.

ETA on a TA manual...I think once 2.0 comes out.

Thanks for the quick replies. I had all the required techs and after clicking for perhaps 10 turns in a row the Terror star finally moved (I guess the waiting period is undocumented although I saw it once in these forums... surprisingly I couldn't find it again or even google my way back to it.) I had all the required techs and had to trade for the two planets the Iconians owned.. I still blew up a bunch of the Iconian ships in the end though hehe.

My only remaining question is I never saw this timer... I zoomed all the way in and out and don't even know what part of the screen the timer is supposed to be showing up on. Thanks for the assist and if you remember where on the main or side screens or Terror Star intel screens the timer is tracked (and where would the 'hour' hand be pointing on a clock face... ie 6 oclock etc..) it would be appreciated.

there should be a line of text below the terror star itself on the map saying "X turns remaining" or something like that. i don't personally use terror stars (i think they're a waste) so i can't remember exactly what it says.

i may be possible you disabled an option somewhere. i think i remember seeing something about displaying starbase info on the map...

anyone else remember more clearly? (or better yet, is anyone at home who can check)

Thanks again guys for the help. I scrolled in tight and it does say "mobilizing 10 weeks".
