ToA ship component editor

Hi, I'm enjoying Twilight very much and have used the tech editor, map editor, scenario editor, and campaign editor. All are fairly easy to figure out. Now when we get to the Improvement editor has not yet received much attention. Mainly because the Ship Component Editor has me completely lost?????

Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial or guide to help?

As it's basically just a GUI to the XML editing, Cari's modding guide (stickied in the modding forum) should be a handy explanation for a good amount of it.
