Upload rules.

rules for who?

I recently uploaded a DesktopX theme that was rejected due to the fact that it contained a CursorFX skin. Ok, I was told that it could not contain a cursor because this causes an unduly large download for those who don't have cursorFX. I am noticing several recent DesktopX themes by a master that contain both Xion skins, and Right Click skins. I do not want to seem a trouble maker, but rules are rules and should apply to all, not just some.
I don't have Xion, and don't use Right Click.  But I had to download the skins for those apps. if I wanted the DX theme. So I did. Seems to me that I should have the right to upload a DX theme containing a cursor, and the downloader should have the right to choose not to download it if they don't want to.  Either this, or the master skinner should have to remove these extra skins from his/her theme.  Just a matter of double standards, seems to me.  Again, I am not trying to start trouble, just pointing out the unfairness going on.    :NOTSURE:

Hi Jim,

This is one of those "fuzzy areas" in regards to uploads.  We normally would encourage non-Master skinners to upload components separately for a couple of reasons, one being that they do get more exposure and downloads that way.  Master skinners are selling a premium skin so we give more leeway if they want to pack their skins in one upload.

Although there is no explicit rule forbidding putting another skin with another, I would strongly discourage it.  The issue has been clarified and we can move that skin to public if you wish.

I did split the items and uploaded seperately, both were approved, I just didn't understand why one could do it and another could not, I was told it had to do with file size, and a cursor weighs very little. Just seemed like two sets of rules to me.

As far as "Master skinners are selling a premium skin so we give more leeway " there a few by this one particular artist that are free and have extra skins. I realize that Masters get to bypass moderation, but they should still be bound to rules. No biggie, I just don't understand some of the things that go on here. I don't mean to cause a stink. You are right, I get more exposure, and more downloads done seperately. Thanx!

I just uploaded a DX theme called Origami DX. It was rejected because it had a preview jpg in it. Every DX theme I have ever uploaded has had a preview jpg in it. Everyone of them. Is it just now becoming a problem, or is this a new policy? Why the change, all of a sudden? My tester, for one, relies on that preview to know that the theme is loading correctly. I just want to know why all of a sudden the rules change?  :NOTSURE:

Hmmm!
I had uploaded a few widgets with preview in the zip but all got accepted.
So are the preview no more allowed?
