Am I getting money? How much?

One of the most annoying factors of Demigod so far was the fact that killing heroes, units, structures, etc. doesn't really tell you how much gold you're getting in a clear way. It shows a bland, white text of "___ killed ____ (+???)" when killing a hero which is sort of frustrating to see sometimes when a pop-up box with the name of a unit you've clicked on is covering it up almost entirely. I'd like to see some sort of crystal clear, but perfectly simple, visual representation of gaining gold. The generic (+??) above a dying unit would be nice, but it would indefinitely clash with the text showing how much damage you dealt.

My suggestion was a little box in the bottom left corner of the screen that you can open and close at will that displays recent gold gains, and perhaps tell you how much gold you're recieving (via the gold-over-time) per minute. This way you can see exactly how much gold you get from killing a tower, without having to stare mindlessly at your current earnings and see how much it goes up by.

Another very helpful possibility is in your options, being able to change the the text above enemies that displays damage and make it show gold instead, or show both, or show neither.

I second this, because it's really hard to know how much money you're making, so it's very hard to maximize your income.

I know someone put up a guide to monster gold/xp, but I don't really want to have to memorize things. I like seeing visuals.

I think that a +xx in gold text would be good above a dead unit.  I wouldn't clash so much with the damage your doing if done properly because after its dead you don't have to hit it again.  Just put a slight delay so the gold pops up after the final damage number popped up.

I think this might belong in the ideas section of the forum.

Gold and experience are motivating.  Seeing immediatly what we are getting is good.  Yeah, you may memorize eventually that X creep gives Y gold, but its much more rewarding having some visual representation.

Actually, you'll make more concentrating on creeps then spending time trying to take down a rook, particularly ones with a couple of health potions.
