Add Bonus Tiles

While messing around with customplanets.xml, I started to wonder if it were possible to add bonus tiles to planets, rather than just relying on random generation.  The post below about "Best Planets" indicates that it's possible to edit planets to add bonus tiles as well; how do I go about doing this?

Thanks.

Yes, it is possible.

But only with planets in a saved game. So you would need to start a game, save it, then edit the saved file to add the bonus tiles.

I can detail how to do it in DL, but not in DA or Twilight.

You need a hex editor (I use Hexplorer), the planet name and the correct values to insert. The values may have changed from DL, so I can't help you there.

You can't change the random generation of planets, however. That is hard coded.

please note that editing a save game file, or using a hexeditor, is strictly forbidden for Metaverse games

And by 'strictly forbidden' you mean 'will toss up a cheat flag'.  lol

sadly not always, though i seem to recall that Cari has improved the MV to guard against this; but getting caught using a Hex editor on a MV game will not maybe, but definitely result in your banning from posting games to the MV

not the least of which, IMHO, i don't know why someone needs to use such a tool; there's enough "valid" cheats (at least by adding the cheat parameter) that will assure victory; does one really need to manipulate the planets that badly?
