As Hurricane Ike seems to be headed on a path towards Houston and the Texas gulf coast, I again wish for the best for anyone in it's path and hope that it's bark is worse than it's bite.
I think the Texans can handle Ike. They have shown the ability to meet those challenges.
I think Texas is gonna get break. Ike doesn't seem to be organizing like it should. It seems that there is countering wind preventing Ike from aggressively increasing windspeeds, establishing a clear eye. Just like Gustav the US is getting a break (unlike Cuba).
Yikes! Ike's looking a little meaner. Doesn't look good for Galveston or Houston. Up to a 25 ft. storm surge is going to drown Galveston I hope everyone stays safe. They were saying get out of Galveston or face "eminent death", so if people stayed I guess that's just natural selection at work. South Florida was in it's sights for a week before it finally dipped south of us, I'm both happy and sad.
Gas prices are going up that's for sure.
