What Did You Play This Weekend?

Tell us!

Well we missed a couple weeks, but I wanted to keep this going.  A lot of work this weekend catching up from my trip, so it wasn't a real big gaming weekend for me.  I did manage to get in a bit of gaming on the DS, which I played some Anno 1701, which is also a great PC game.

It wouldn't be a complete weekend without getting my hands dirty with the Demigod beta.  I would imagine quite a few of you felt the same way.

So, what did you play this weekend?

I'll probably get lambasted for it, but WoW (got an expansion beta invite this weekend, hadn't played in a few weeks). :p

I had very limited gaming time this weekend, but got an hour or so in on a Dark Avatar Gigantic Map game that's been ongoing for a week or so.

Also found two more new copies of GalCiv2 at a good price and scooped them up for gifts.  (Sorry folks.  Their entire in stock inventory was two copies.)

I kicked some Teddy butt on TPM08, conquered the world in CivIV:BTS; and reinstalled GCII:TA for a quick game after a reboot of the system; and then I kicked it old school and played some RISK with my buddies, that I lost marvelously at

Warhammer Online Open Beta
(Meh, going to wait for about 6 months on this one)

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
(Testing the Impulse build that will be released on 9/16)

I briefly logged into the WoW: Wrath of the Lich King beta.  Haven't poked at it in a few weeks so I had a huge patch to download.

My PC is currently sick and visiting a Doc (thank God for Warranty) so I have not been able to game for a couple of weeks now. I am currently in my withdraw stages, now I know what a drug user feels like. I still have my sons PC but considering how I am use to my fast laptop, playing COD2 on his is horrifying enough to get off 5 minutes after I start.

I jumped back and started catching up on a couple of games I missed playing from a few years ago. Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Arx Fatalis.

I was digging around for a new hand-me-down for my dad, I created a monster when I gave him one of my old computers. Still hasn't figured out email but at 76 he's a gaming fool. My mom says he's on that dam machine all day but at least she gets control over the TV while he's gone. He's worn out Half Life and FEAR so I thought I would let him try Bioshock. That was a mistake, he doesn't hear very well so he doesn't understand what he's being told to do and hacking really pisses him off. I knew the game might be hard for him but I figured a more cerebral game would keep his mind a little sharper than than a strait FPS does. He wont give up so now I get several phone calls a day asking me where he needs to go, I'm about ready to tell him.

Anyway while I was digging I came across imo the greatest game ever made, Sacrfice. Why there's never been a sequel to that game is a mystery to me. So, yea that's the long answer to what I played this weekend.

Portal, then Demigod.  I love the Rook, my husband loves the Torch Bearer.  It's fun!

Got some more testing on Demigod, new Sins beta2, and got some time to play Dragon Quest 4 DS. DQ4 is really nice, it has old DQ feel with better 2D animated monsters, classic old school RPG always have s place in my game collection.

Stars! game LIES (Life Is Eternal Struggle). I have't played any other game for more than a month. About one hour for one turn and two-three hours for doing diplomacy is enough gaming for me. In the rest of my free time I'm rather having a good book or watching old episodes of SG-1. I still have an unfinished game of the UFO - Terror From The Deep in ironman mode (no saves at all), but I will likely not finish it. When your bases produce several tens of millions of cash per month and your soldiersh wear ultimate armor and weapons is the game no more a challenge.

Now a bit of heresy ;) : since my disk in my home comp crashed I even haven't bothered to reinstall GaCiv. Looking at what will patch 2.0 add for my DA I'll probably keep it off my comp. (me puts the helmet on and runs for cover :D )

I played a little bit The Witcher Enhanced after I had downloaded all the new stuff and I also played a bit Infinite Undiscovery on my 360

the witcher EE...i've just reached third chapter, the game is amazing, immersive, beautiful and addictive. I can't find any cons on this one, it's the best RPG i've played so far.

I'm also on multiwinia, this is intense fun. The big battles are coming early and there is no real strategy in the mode I've tried. It's just massive kills, massive fun. I need to play online and with other modes though to see if it doesn't get boring after a while.
