A type of defamation. Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community.
Dr Guy, If you're talking about my comment, I didn't slander McCain for his POW years. I made a statement that I was tired of hearing about it. Big difference.

I made an observation after reading the blog (short as it was) and then reading the comments. I singled no one out. Unless you think I singled you out, but then that is your problem, not mine.
Changed my mind! I hate elections... they bring out the worst in a lot of people.

For some reason, me being tired of hearing about it set you off. Must not have anything better to be mad about than me being tired of hearing about it...I'm tired of hearing about it. Seems to me the only one with an attitude here is you! Messiahs comments were right on the money! McCain served in the military...hats off to him. His was a POW....sucks to be him...he shouldn't have gotten caught. Time to put the crutches away and stop using that as a selling point for him to be president. Other people in the military went through a hell of a lot worse than he did. Secondly he's to damn old and unhealthy to be running for president and possibly leaving us with this pathetic nobody Palin as our president.

Has anyone answered by original question yet? I also find it interesting the people who are bashing McCains service to our country. Lets compare candidates....
While McCain was fighting communists, Obama was launching his political career with them. The choice is clear for me.

If you read all 150 comments (there were in existance when I made mine) you would see that McCain's serrvice is mentioned frequently. You may have been the last to mention it, and frankly I could not say who was first and who was last, but not the only.
How long will Democrats remember that question the next time NOW gets on its horse about unfair pay? I really hope that neither of you support NOW because those words are going to come back to haunt you - Obama's deeds dont appear to matter to anyone.

About the claim you made that we are slandering his POW years. That is crap! Everyone on here that discussed it said they respected his service to this country and so do I! But I will be damned if that gives the man qualification to be president of the united states!! That is like saying, "I was in Iraq for one day and was kidnapped by terrorists! I deserve to be president!" There is no merit in that fact at all! However, that does entitle the person to national honors and everything that this country could possibly give them! If they were brave enough to fight for this country, they deserve the greatest respect possible. It just doesn't prove that they can govern the country.
Compare apples to oranges, they aren't working the same levels.
And ParaTed, you obviously have absolutely NO idea what you're talking about regarding biology, physiology, and genetics. Real slick there with the name calling and insulting too, real classy. And you must not know me very well, because I DO think for myself, and I say what I mean and mean what I say, regardless of what any twits try to say otherwise. You are a waste of my time.
Oh, I am quite certain that McCain has the money to do that. After all, he does receive money from lobbyists and such. Not only that, I am also sure he made sure that it happened as a publicity stunt to use against obama.
