Personalization of capital ships?

I think it would be awesome if the player could put a custom decal on there capital ships. There is already a similar feature in World In Conflict where a player can have a custom unit decal.

Now I am not saying this should be for every unit but I feel this would further enhance the game if its used for the capital ships, it would add a touch of personalization to the game, which IMO would enhance the atmosphere.

What are your thoughts?

yeah that would be really cool

I also really badly want to be able to upload my own Logo for my Faction, im talking about the 40 or so triangles and circles patterns you get to chose as your faction logo on at the begining and it appears on all your ships and planets.

btw, i find it really strange how i can run SINS very very easily and smoothly with top graphics but cannot run World in Conflit on the SAME machine! Its lags really slow and the graphics are in chunks not smooth or rendered, i also cant run SUPREME COMMANDER either.

Very strange.

I can't remember where I read it but SINS is supose to scale with computer performance I belive. Something about the engine lets it do that.

yeah, Sins does a very good job of performing well on all types of computers, Custom decals would be interesting in multiplayer. I personally like the ones that they already have for the players.

Once in Homeworld 2, i put finnish flags on Hiigaran ships and USSR flags on Vaygr ships, and proceeded to slaughtered them (the Vaygr) horribly  .

On topic: yes, that would be cool! A decal that says "i'm gonna WTFPWN you" (symbolically |-) ) on a Kol's nose would own!

BTW, can you make your own player icons? (i mean the things that show structure/ship/planet ownership)

Yes, but you need to have a program that can open and edit/export to .TGA. This will only be client-side, so other people in the game, assuming you're playing multiplayer, won't be able to see this. Overall, it's only useful if you're a person who likes to see their own ideas, images, and other such things in the game, like myself. This is, of course, assuming that the game still works like it did since I last played it.

(Fondly remembers having played as a TF2 Medic in Sins)

I also support the addition of non-client-side portraits, icons, and/or other such things. Being able to customize your army's appearance right down to their badge and banner in Dawn of War was awesome, anything remotely like that will certainly get my backing.

dont know about world in conflict.. but my guess is you need more ram :/   (my GUESS *_* )

about supreme commander... that game needs some serious improvement in PC requirements....

minimum requirements = unplayable (unless u want -10 speed + -20 speed due to lagging) (on medium map with 3 or more players)all i know is that u need some serious videocard and preferably over 2048 ram

me has 500 something (575 ??) videocard with 2048 ram and 3 ghz dual core

i run ".... yeah i guess its ok to call it smooth" cough*... smooth on low settings, with no more then 3 oponents.... end lags alot... -5 speed methinks

game itself owns tough ;D

Considering that, aside from three games and some expansions, Stardock is built pretty much entirely around skinning, it is odd that they don't allow players to make their own player icons.

I wonder if you could get mudflaps with the woman's silhouette on them or Yosemite Sam at the least.
