there were a few parallels and a few places where we were opposites. hope you enjoy reading my aar. the format is similar since i copied some html from the gotm site to format my text.

I loved your AAR! It was a lot of fun to read what we did different. We both colonized a lot of the same start, but I had a rough time because I chose the 'other' path.

Ellestar is working on a large/ masochistic Game of the Month. In the meantime I am working on a medium/ bright game. I guess both will be released at the end of this month.

The medium/ bright game will have some nice surprises and tweaks. Be prepared !

how do i tell how many turns a game took?

Uploaded a military victory, my first military
victory ever, probably should have practiced a few
games before but its all for fun.

Result was Feb 2186, pretty crappy, seriously
underestimated the pop I need for troop ships.

Lost some troop fights towards the end by like 50
million cost me several turns.

Just submitted my game. This was a fun thing to do, thanks for putting it together folks.

Where can I find the AARs, by the way?

the organizers are asking people not to publicly show aars since that would spoil the competition by letting people see what did and didn't work. i read dikdirk's aar and he read mine since we finished our games so there are at least two ready for people when the competition is over.

Whoa! That is very fast Staffa. Did you start invading with battlecruisers/transports?

I used corveettes, military the opponants never
mounted any type of defense, I destroyed mostly colony
ships and after I simply declared war with all the
computers at once to try to blackmail them into
giving me systems(I had all their planets surrounded
by corvettes) it was simply a matter of waiting
literally 5 years for my pop to grow enough to load
transports and drop them on the planets they wouldnt
give me for 'peace'

My mistake were 3 I can think of off the top of my head

Focus on pop more early on, and dont give the computers
aphrodesiac(DUH)

send transports to the further colonies first

and once all the transports in flight, screw economy
and use the most costly groundcombat style to make
sure I win, id have shaved off at least 2 years.

Grrr... I stay up at 2 AM and apolyton looks like it's down. I think masochistic would be nice for next game. I got a very crappy score, in part because I used an alliance victory to avoid losing time steamrolling the last ai (was bored by lack of challenge - or lack of sleep maybe - in the end), in part because I took my time. I'm used to harder games where dreadnoughts are there before you can blink, so here, I waited for the dreadnought era to begin wars,... and it never came.

hehe, ironic given your empire. for us lesser players, the challenge was fairly decent. can't wait for the end of the month when i get to share my aar and read others'. i won an alliance vic too.
