Metaverse accounts

How do Metaverse accounts work? I'm planning to get the game, but I'm curious to know if I'm allowed multiple Metaverse accounts at a time, only one at a time (but recreatable), or is there only one per game ever?

By one per game, I mean one per copy of GalCiv.

Yes, you can currently only have one account registered with the same serial.
