Suggestion regarding incoming hostiles alert

I maybe the only one who is annoyed by this but the incoming hostiles alert could use a threat level. It is not a problem on small maps or during early game but on large maps and in mid-late games it can be distracting. Being caught up in 3 battles across different star systems and getting the generic "incoming hostile fleet" alert for a single cobalt every few minutes gets old fast. I keep having to divert my attention to make sure what ever is approaching my territory is something my defenses there can handle.  So I am suggesting changing the sound alert depending on the amount of ships phasing in. Maybe one for a "small" fleet and one for "medium-large" fleets or an option to only give verbal alerts for fleets consisting of some predetermined number.

Small, medium, large sounds good to me.

Great idea.  It could also be based on the incoming fleet supply.  "Incoming Hostiles 600 in number" for a near-600 fleet supply worth of incoming ships.

YES!  I have thought the exact same thing!

If it is one ship, it should say something like "Hostile scout incoming"

Several ships it should say, "Hostile ships incoming"

Tons of Ships, it should say,  "Hostile Fleet Incoming"  (with a little urgency in the inflection)

In defense of the developers, I think this is a little tricky to implement, because ships don't all warp at once, and the way the logic probably works is to announce on the first ship and not re-alert unless the phase lane clears.  It isn't impossible though, and would certainly be a nice touch.

What about the threat level increasing as you go down the fleet research tree? Like, early game, five ships results in "Hostile Fleet Incoming!" while in the late game, that same warning sound would trigger on 25 or more ships...

This is a great idea - I too am having a war on 3 fronts between 3 different factions out of the other 9 and 1 blasted scout is what the planetary defenses are for - I keep having to pop up from micromanaging the fleet to take a look and then pop back. It's only a few seconds, but whe you're trying to tell your bombers to go around the flak to take out the command cruisers and the LRMs to take out th erepair ships and have the capital ships keep the cruisers busy even a few seconds matter in a fight that you're outnumbered in where every ship counts.
