It is my pleasure as a new senator of the MWC to congratulate all good peeople of fertile lands with incredible success that our empire achieved in the recent past.

We are not the fastest growing empire but the quickest to rise in ratings. Opportunities are excellent for new (and seasoned) players to make their mark on the face of Metaverse.

We are not asking anyone to defect from other respected empires. We are asking people of midlands (of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Japan, all islands) to join MWC. If desire to help a real and noble cause will regretfully make you leave existing empire so be it. Be strong in your true aligence.

We defeated G.R.O.S.S, others are shaking seeing MWC make it's way up.

Celebrate if you are an MWC member. Join us and we shall go together to the glorious future of the Mid Western Confederation.

Excuse me, but I'm still rather new and don't know much of what I need to do here. I live in Illinois, in the midwest of the US, so I fit the empire's theme [I think]. However, I'm somewhat hesitant to join, because I don't know whether I need permission or not. I don't want to do something wrong or get in trouble, so I'm just asking for permission [and if I need permission] to join this empire...

Empires here in the Metaverse are either "open" or "invite-only." The MWC is an open empire and is generally very, well, open to new members. Regardless of their geographic locations.

For your sanity, however, I warn you that an appreciation of college football is VITAL to your survival if you read this thread while a member!

Nicholas welcome to the MWC. The Jedi master is correct on two counts. We welcome anyone from anywhere and we (or at least I) love college football. Even when my school is doing horrible (ND Grad). So head over to the Barn (home website) and sign up. There are alot of game tips (and a little sports talk) there.

I tried to register on the MWC website but it didn't send me the confirmation email. I tried registering again but it said my email was already registered. So I told it I lost my password and it says it sent it to my email, but the email never arrived. Does the site have a problem with Hotmail addresses, or am I missing something?

Well I've though long and hard about this, and I decided that it's about time to take the plunge. As you can see I've moved to the Jedi Republic. I don't really feel like going into all the details again, but I did discuss this with kasualkid before making it official and I can get the transcript if anyone wants to hear the long, drawn out explanation that badly.

Just remember I have nothing against MWC, and I've thought a lot about doing this... May the Force be with MWC, always... :)

Edit: I was going to just post the chat transcript from me and kasualkid on the members' forum but it looks like idle pulled my access before I could do it. I asked kasualkid to do it for me though so hopefully it will be there for you all to read if you want. If you have any comments toward me, though, put them here since I can't see them over there anymore :P

Anyways though, Like I told kid I've been thinking about this since well before the hopping started up... once it did though I decided it would be best to wait to do anything until after it all settled down again :notsure:

In any case though, MWC seems to be doing well enough for now, what with two new recruits in the past week. Just keep things up while I'm gone ;)

Looks like I get the dreaded #666. I agree with your post. While I encouraged people who thought they did not fit to move on, there was a rash of moves done more on temporary playful whims than anything else. Then that led to a chain reaction of people who already had empire issues moving around. This was bad at first, but maybe some good may come of it in the long run. It does bring up the serious issue of whether having a high player score and/or being a very active person in an empire through forums means having a higher standard to meet than a zero point rookie who does not even know what the empire stands for yet.

I am a very avid supporter of empiring in general, having helped several empires in my day, but I do have some expectations. First, research the Meta a bit before just jumping in an empire or creating your own. Compatibility is important. Second, leaving is OK if it is well thought out and there are real issues that cannot be resolved. Joining an empire merely to spite someone else is one of the poorest reasons. Temporarily joining an empire just to make them #1 is also poor. Real frequent empire hopping lead to frustration and mistrust. All of those bad things have happened.

Now we are on the edge of a new age in the Meta. Galciv is going to keep updating and expanding for the near future at least and the Meta will be updated with new recruits as well. So what can us "old timers" teach them? Do we teach them that it is alright to play mercenary and use each other for convenience like some multi-player team games that turn into PK fests or that we are a community in both an overall sense of fellowship that crosses empire boundaries and also in a local sense of loyalty to our team mates in our own empires as well? Just some of Gerakken's thoughts for this night. Thank you for your patience, readers.
