Question????

I'm hoping to get a new harddrive soon, will I have any problems regestering and updateing SoaSE?  I get the impression it can only be updated on one harddrive.

P.S. I think Impulse is very handy.

answer.

I'm not sure how many different copies you can have in parallel or if there even is a limit. I run it on two machines and it is no problem. the one still has the beta 3 patch, this one has 1.10. so, from experience I'd say it should not be any problem.

I once heard you can have two copies at any time and that you can use them for lans too. I think it was done to encourage spread and make it easy to play with a friend who may then proceed to pick the game up. at least I have been able to play with my single copy, legally, with a friend of mine. he eventually got the game. :)

If you copy the entire game folder over to the new drive, and tell Impulse to install the game to the new folder, it won't download everything again.

So if I get a new harddrive and install the game on it I won't be able to get the updates.

Is this true?

Sins has no activations. You can get a new HD and install it and update it just as you did the first time ;)

yep, that's what makes it cool. its not like EA, where there's a limit on installs.
