Getting an ally?

hi

i try to find at least one civ to get as an allie but they always turn against me even if i give them a ton of stuff. any suggestions?

Do you mean they break the alliance or that you can't get them to ally with you?

To get an alliance you must have close relationships with the other race and you must both have the alliance tech. Bear in mind that even if you give them a ton of stuff they will still turn on you if you are very weak compared to them. Trading with them and giving them gifts will improve your relations with them. It's harder to raise relations with races of a different allignment.
