What?  Where's my name?  Besides, I think Cykur is pretty high up on the pecking order.  Even rusty, his tactical moves are amazing.

If we were to go forward with something like this, should the ladder be 2v2 or 3v3?  I think 3v3 is more fun but it would be easier to for people to be able to show up and play 2v2 (and to find a partner for it).  A roster of 4 people should be enough to field a team for 2v2.  Perhaps there would also be interest in having a 1v1 ladder.  Aside from finding a place to set up a ladder, we would also need to have competition-grade custom maps.

Kwengui, here's what a ladder looks like.  Here are links to two ladders from the original Unreal Tournament (1999) game for Capture-the-Flag.  The goal is to climb up the ladder.  To do that your clan challenges a clan above yours (usually you're only allowed to issue challenges within a few rungs of your own spot) and if your clan wins, you move into the slot of the clan you beat and the losing clan slides down one rung.  The clans below it slide down a rung too (until the one that was right above your earlier slot drops down one rung into that slot).  It's more fun when there are about 20+ teams pm the ladder, IMHO, so more Sins clans would need to be formed.  (I managed a clan that was on both of those ladders.)

Bumped into EEF tonight, apparently that clan is alive and kicking. They weren't aware of any ladder ideas, I take it they don't go to these forums, being mostly German and stuff.

I think our best bet would be Clanbase.  So, should we try a 1v1 ladder just to get some activity going?  What's challenging about this is that in order to get a ladder approved, people have to register at the site and then vote in favor of it.  So it's kind of a chicken-and-the-egg catch 22 problem.  People won't register with Clanbase unless the ladder is there but the ladder won't be there if people don't register and express interest in the voting thread.

1v1 should work easily - is there any prestige lost if we only do a 1v1 ladder... will the greater community think Sins is not a real MP game?

I think we should (eventually) go for the 2v2 ladder. Much easier to keep going than 3v3, and I think you can play 3v3 matches under that one too, if both teams agree.

How many votes do we need?

Personally, I'm not all that interested in 1v1 but I think it would be a good way to get activity started since it's all mano y mano and no clan or coordination with other people (other than agreeing to a time with a single opponent) is required. 

However, we really need people to express intrest and enthusiasm in this because if a vote fails (at Clanbase or elsewhere) then it won't happen and it would be silly to move forward with this until a bunch of people have said they're seriously interested.
