How did you pick your screen name

How did you pick your screen name

I was looking at some submissions for the GUI's when I thought to myself, "What made them think of that screen name?"From that thought and many like it, I decided to start this thread to enlighten others who might be asking themselves the same question.

So, if you could please share with the community how you chose your screen name, it would be greatly appreciated!

I'll start, My husband's name is Brian so, inevitably I am Brysgirl!(I'm sure the science behind that was mind-boggling)

Back in the day the warehouse manager at the sporting goods store I worked at lost a shipment of Zubaz brand pants.  So he's yelling "ZUBAZ!!" and I happen to walk into the warehouse and say "what's up?" or some such thing.  Thus I was tagged in meatspace.  Compuserve was just allowing members to switch to names from numbers so there I was.  Zubaz.  That was back in '91 or '92.

For a short while I was a member of a A-Wing squadron on CS and went by Lurker1.  I dug that nick a lot but people would always end up calling be some variant of Zubaz.  :)

Mine is from all the years that I've worked in the automotive industry. I work for a rental car company and trade cars every few days so the neighbors little girl started calling me "that Car Guy'.

When setting up my first email account on my home oomputer a long time ago, I used a mix of my name (Karen) and my son's name (Matthew) and wound up with karmat. It doesn't hurt that it has karma in it!

When I first started online gaming, back in the days of the original Unreal Tournament, I was so embarassingly bad I would change my gaming nick every few days just to distance myself from the immense noobosity I had been displaying. I ended up calling myself EasyTiger as a tongue-in-cheek reminder to myself to relax and enjoy the game. I stuck with the nick, it got shortened to Tiggz by my gaming friends, I started skinning...

Mines real simple...I entered the World Wide "Web" on a webtv years ago and started building a website with it using all these "Gizmos." Needed a name for the site and it seemed pretty logical. WebGizmos was born.

Mine came to me because I love the Weather. When I was a teen everyone would ask me what the weather would be. I guess I was better at predicting the weather than the weatherman.

Bound came in because I am Bound to the weather. Does not matter where i am. I will always be watching and trying to predict the weather.:snowman: :sun:

Mine is from way back in the bad ol' corporate days.  When the company first computerized it's subsidiaries that's what I got stuck with for corp email.  Had it for so many years I just decided to port it over for personal use (since it's long since been embedded in my memory) and ended up with it here.

Not very creative I guess, but at my age you shouldn't expect too much  - old dogs and all that...
