Bring Back 800x600 (I bought a Netbook)

And it's fastttt

So i got myself this snazzy new netbook. First thing after installing Word 07', Poweriso, Winrar, Google Chrome, Updates, etc, was install Sins of a Solar Empire..

That's my baby. It's 1024x600. Big drop from my desktop's 1680x1050, but the little thing is awesome. It's running vista right now.

Anyway, so back to my story. I installed SoaSE, and Entrenchment! Wooh (lan game with my brother anyone?!)

But...alas, the bottom of my screen was cut off. I went into the settings and edited the resolution manually. Didn't take. I set it to windowed mode in the small hope that i could somehow handle it with a window. Didn't work.

VideoIsWindowed TRUE

VideoRefreshRate 60

VideoFullScreenWidth 1024

VideoFullScreenHeight 600

VideoWindowedWidth 1024

VideoWindowedHeight 600

VideoMultiSampleType 2

Is there any solution for me, other than plugging it into a full sized monitor? Please say yes. (I know, it's crazy to want to play with such a small screen, but i don't care. If i can play FEAR and CS:S, then i should be able to play this =\)

I haven't looked at the specs, but generally laptop vid cards aren't built for games.

It's a Geforce 9300M GS. IF you had read my post, you would realize that's a non-issue.

using a 14.1 inch laptop with no problems on screen size. its set to 1024/600 with no issues in sins.

Windowed mode opens at 1024x768 regardless of the setting since you can just resize it like any other window anyway. Set windowed to FALSE there and it should open fullscreen at the desired resolution. Do be warned though that the UI is not designed to scale that small and some things such as the research screens may go off the edge.

Okay. I tried that, but the startup screen is still cut, and i can't press anything on the lower part of the screen, so it is safe to say that i still haven't gotten it set to 1024x600.

I did everything said here, and i should mention that wen i go into video options, there are absolutely no options for resolution, before and after editing the user.settings file.

Before I decided to make this mod myself, I looked everywhere for a solution to be able to play Sins on my netbook.

I'm just trying to help the Sins community by letting as many people as possible know about my mod.
