non-US keyboard

At the score-submit screen, it's not possible to enter the @ char in the email address if one is using a non US keyboard. I had to do a ALT + Numpad64 instead. (normal way with a swedish keyboard is ALTGR+2)

I haven't tried to submit scores, but I guess that the problem also applies to 'æÆ' and 'øØ' and other national keyboards. The norwegian (and danish?) keyboard layout also has @ as ALTGR+2.

Oh yeah...that's why I had the '@' in the code of LWN...

This is still on the todo I suppose?

The bug is still there anyway, cant write @ or the swedish chars.

Makes me wonder what the makers of Pear thought when limiting it like this.

Earlier you said that the bug with the swedish chars ÅåÄäÖö probably just was a font problem. Could we try this? You could email the font for testing.

I think that the problem with the @ symbol is because it gives a different value than the US keyboard does...

As for the other symbols, the next time that Scott encodes a font, I'll get him to put the additional characters in.

Good point, Fredrik. With Beta 3 looking like the first build where the whole product concept is there, December (beta 4?) looks like the time to put in the important details, like NLS (National Language Support), accelerator keys, spell checking and contextual use checking of files with text data (*.ship, *.anomaly, *.tech, *.imp, etc., etc., etc..) in all languages, and so on. And with the expected ship date that I last heard being in January, perhaps December is not soon enough.

Fredrik, this is on our internal list. You don't need to keep reviving this old thread.
