Proximity Questions

How does proximity work in this game? 

Does Regulus get xp/gold for sniping a DG across the map?  Does he get XP/gold for units he kills with mines on the other side of the map? 

Does a General get xp/gold for units/towers his minions kill on the other side of the map?  Can his minions cap a flag without him and does he get xp for this? 

Does Erebus get xp/gold if his poison potion drop kills a DG?   

Off-topic: what does "We have captured a Trebuchet!" mean?  How does one capture a trebuchet?

The trebuchet one is because there's trebuchet flags in other maps. I think it's a bug with prison that the silly woman keeps telling you you've somehow captured an invisible one.

 

You get gold for the across the map snipe, I'm not sure about the XP though.

 

Minions can't capture without a general unfortunately, so no XP from that. Never been sure about minion kills either, the XP influx seems to be a constant trickle wherever you are so it's confusing.
