Avatars!

Avatars!

Mine is the best.  ;)

(When you see it, you'll shit bricks.)

[Also, I just remembered the avatar doesn't show in the first post of a thread.  So now I'm laughing maniacally.]

:)  Question please, how do you get your avatar to be bigger?  I have the little one, one i uploaded, but its rather, well... too little to see very well. So i was thinking that with all these people who have big avatars, could well... let me know how they did it, then i could too.   :)

I was assuming we had to have the 50 x 50 pixels size to have the avatar show up. But lots of people seem to be well over that!!   So please, pretty please tell me your secret?

Does it have anything to do with hairtonic?  I hope not!!

we have some avatars over on the elemental: war of magic forum (under the general discussion for 'get your avatars here')  that are the max resolution so they appear the size mine is.

resolution is what it boils down to be.  Your avatar is not 100x100, its 44x52, which means about half the size you could have it.

Here is what I mentioned

No secret to it. They increased the size to 100x100 a while ago. I'm just too lazy to resize.

Ah, I see! It is brilliant! Brilliant I say! You made your avatar the "No avatar" icon! Now, even though it looks like you have no avatar you really do! Brilliant!

Another random quote:

Beckett: Your mad.

Jack: Thank goodness for that, otherwise this would never work.

P.S. About the bricks, No one did because it is humanly impossible.

Pirates is full of appropriate quotes it seems.

brilliant, yet dumb.  ppl can only take your word on that you have an avatar.  if there were some other way of verification, then maybe.

and yet another random quote:

Jack (walking away from Elizabeth on island): 'It must be so hard for you, here on this island'  WELL IT BLOODY IS NOW!

[sees Becket's ship]

I'll never hear the end of this

Norrington: You actually were telling the truth.

Jack: I do that quite a lot. Yet people are always surprised.

Barbossa: Why, thank you, Jack.

Jack Sparrow: [obviously confused] You're welcome.

Barbossa: Not you! We named the monkey "Jack."

Jack: Mr. Gibbs, you may throw my hat if you like. [hands Gibbs his hat]

Gibbs: Aye aye, Captain! [throws hat] Hooray!!

Jack: Now go and get it.

I'm making a random quotes thread in off topic.

Just to nitpick, 44x52 is actually a lot closer to a quarter of the size of 100x100 than half.  ;)

(22.88% for those who really want to be pedantic.)

I assume you meant half in each dimension.  :)

I did say right click, did I not?  If you right click and view the image on someone else's avatar, you can see their avatar.  If you right click and view image on my avatar, you can see that it is indeed present (here).  If, by contrast, you right click and view image on someone's avatar who does not have an avatar, you'll get this gem (or an equivalent).

Thank you.

Also, for what it's worth-my "avatar" looks like shit when blown up, so I probably won't bother resizing it.

you are right, however when I said 'about half' I strictly meant height rather than area.

To me when I say 'size' I am generally talking about height or length, rather than something like physical mass or volume.   I don't know why, I think I was just raised using that term.  So like the phrase 'you are half the size of that man' is an extreme exageration to me, where some people might think of it as "125 lbs < 250 lbs man", I don't... I only think 5 ft < 10 ft (which of course is 'impossible' since Robert Wadlow, the tallest man, was 9 ft something.)

Sorry, not possible. There's no way to make that into something it isn't. But fear not, you're still as disturbing as ever, Zombie Fox.

Edit: And I just noticed that you have a Fox smilie that's saved amongst the other smilies on the server, yet not in the available list of avatars! When am I going to get a Bear?!

Ah, yet I can confirm that he does, in fact, have an avatar. His avatar is the no avatar from the forums for Sins. Yet I read this part of the forum presently from Elemental. Therefore his no avatar appears as an avatar as the Elemental no avatar is different than the Sins no avatar.

Sir, I applaud you, for at once you have both Avatar and No Avatar. Surely you are a great philosopher.
