Could someone please give me a DEFINITIVE answer to which Events in the Library Section will work with the latest version of GalCiv?

Also, if they update the game again will they still work in future versions?

I really do not want to put anything extra into my game unless I know it will not mess it up.

Thanks for the help.

To date, all events work with all versions of GalCiv. Stardock has not changed the event formatting from the initial release. For that matter, they haven't changed the format of any of the text files since release.

The ex-pack has talk of expanded event options, so I would imagine they might break compatibility at that point (or not, they could just introduce a new text file type), but for now they'll work fine.

Some of the events in the library are (were?) malformatted, but the ones that have ever worked all still do work. The Labour Strike event is one of the bad ones (a space in the event header causes the parser to break), but I don't recall if that event is actually still in the Library or not.

My Labour Unrest event indeed was a crasher because of a space in its fileIDname. I erased it from the Library database and did not post it again so as not to confuse users, who might wonder which version they had or whether the Library one was fixed or not. I also think the 1man event (not one of mine) or a similar title also was a crasher because its fileIDname led off with a number, which we discovered the engine coding did not allow. Otherwise I think the Library events as they are all work. The various updates of the current files have to do with typos and value tweaking, not fundamental compatibility issues.
