Campaign Mode and Research
Hello to all!
Ok, I just want one thing. I WANT TO KEEP MY D$%N RESEARCH!!! From one mission to the next. Is there a file I can edit or mod to make this happen? thanks

Nope.

Sorry.
If you want, you could try cheat mode, and either ctrl + r to research the current tech or ctrl + shift + r to research all techs, but apart from that, I can't think of anything. Even a mod wouldn't help much, as the campaigns are locked in a number of capacities, one of which being that which you can research, which might impact any mod that attempts what you've described.
Thanks for the reply. Since the last update my stardock account has been screwed up and the ctrl + R cheat doesn't work any more
. It's the only cheat I want, dang it! Whats the logic behind stripping you of research any ways? It makes no sense to me why you battle through a mission then lose all the tech you fought for on the next as if you have amneisa on a massive scale! This is my only complaint on this game, this is just D.U.M., dum!
That makes no sense.
Is that the only one that doesn't work, or does cheat mode not work?
Are you positive you're not trying to run the cheat mode from the launcher? You need to create a shortcut to the executable and append the -cheat tag to the end of the target.
For what it's worth, some of us have complained about that aspect of the campaign as well, but it simply wasn't designed with that in mind. ![]()
No the issues with stardock have nothing to do with cheats. I hadn't used it in some time and when I opened the program it wanted to update, it's just been a pain.
I did find a way to mod the campaign file but not savy enough to write it so that the tech carrys over from one mission to the next.
