Is Cursor FX Plus really installed?

I have NEVER had such a problem getting everything ACTIVATED ( still not sure if I have!) to get some kind of results from my $20 investment for Cursor FX Plus.  My Impulse panel or whatever it is says Cursor FX Plus has been installed. However only Cursor FX (not Plus) is what is in the start menu and is what shows when I open Cursor FX and do an 'About'.

This is such a PITA and I swore years ago to NEVER again by a Stardock product back when they used the Stardock Central program installer interface. I still have to wade thru tons of crap to get my purchased app installed then I cannot verify it IS installed.

SO..my Cursor FX app when open does not say 'Plus' anywhere in it or on it. My start menu has no entry for Cursor FX Plus but only for the Cursor FX (not Plus) version. My installed programs show Cursor FX Plus.

MY QUESTION: On Vista Home Premium 32 bit how can I verify I have the actual 'Plus' version installed. This really STINKS!!!!

the easiest way to verify you have the plus version installed is to check if all the features are available. if not then you have the free version, if everything is there for you to use then you have plus. I have the plus version and the about says cursor FX only, but all the features are there so i know it is the proper version. as for having to wade through tons of crap in stardock central, i find that difficult to believe, whats hard about click the objecydesktop or misc or free stuff links on the left to access all your software. Too many people complain about these things when all they have to do is take a little time to actually work out how to use the program properly instead of whining.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't say PLUS, you just gain the extra features, like Nimbin said, check it out ;)

Is CursorFX Plus the only program you have purchased? If so, when you are logged-in to Impulse click on the blue ? mark (top right) and select 'Register a product' then at the bottom of the screen click 'Add Registration'. Enter the serial number you received in the email and in the drop-down 'Product Category' select Desktop and then under 'Product' select CursorFX Plus.

When completed the CursorFX Plus program should appear in the 'My Desktop' tab and you will be able to install it.

You should click the Stardock blue orb and put a check mark by 'Show pre-release versions' as CursorFX Plus latest release is a beta.

The program only shows CursorFX in the Start panel and the about page as previously mentioned.

I don't agree that asking a question is the same as 'whining'. Be that as it may..I still feel there is way too much log-in, password, validation nonsense for a simple app. Hell, i had to register, pick a user name and password and THEN get validated just to reply to your post. And all that is AFTER I bought the product and 'registered with Impulse to get at my app. It is crazy IMHO. To me after 30 years of personal computing this whole scheme of product delivery seems way over the top and very convoluted for a $20 app.

Big $$$ apps like Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop require a much simpler way to get 'activated'. IMHO Stardock's repetitous account sign-ups and validations are tedious.

Thank yopu Hankers I did get it registered. I would have never figured that our on my own. I gotta say this whole mandatory Impulse hurdle SD forces down our throats is very non-intuitive. Which IMHO is exactly opposite of what really "great software " should be.

I guess I have the 'Extra Features'. IMHO it would help a lot to NOT have the free version of the app pn the Control Panel instead of the paid-for name. It's like buying a Camaor Z-28 and not finding any correlative branding on it anywhere. So the new owner asks WTF is going on and is ridiculed for 'whining'.  AFAIK all other apps make it very very clear whaich version you have when you open the app itself. Why is Stardock so nebulous about revealing the name of the product one has purchased?

Makes little sense to me.....but neither does this whole madatory Impulse 'digital delivery' scheme. If it stems from some kind of anti-piracy measure it sure inflicts needless efforts on the legitimate customers..doesn't it?  Just my $.02.  Stardock has always had the least intuitive and least customer friendly experience I have ever encountered.  Odd though. How super-easy it was to purchase. Just a PITA to actually get the app installed , registered, validated, etc. Then to post here I had to go through all that crap again.....senseless!!!!!!!   :(
