There is a library under DesktopX Objects called animated wallpaper (check the external link).  What ever happen to these?

Could it be an alternative to Deskscapes for XP users?

Is it too resource hungry or just to hard to make compared to Deskscapes?

Is trying to compare the two like comparing apples and oranges?

Resource hog!

Nope.  In fact, it'd be no trouble to animate a transformation between applese and oranges in DX.  :)

Okay, so what's the process for making an animated wallpaper in DX Objects?

Is there a tutorial in the Wiki?

More importantly why haven't some of the wallpaper skinners tried thier had at making these?

You can see a few here: http://hemanherecomes.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=34

There is not tutorial that I am aware of but the ones here can be looked at in DX.

Another good example it the Snow one by Greenreaper (I think).  That one isn' too resource heavy.

Zubaz, the link to hermans page is for DX Widgets, what I'm referring to are again animated wallpapers that show up in the DX Objects library. :S

EDIT:  Deleted the other link, it wasn't working.  Click on the external link.

The ones I linked to are similar to the DX Object | Animated Wallpaper library; just more recent.

some of the animated walls (the castle springs to mind) are basically a wallpaper with animated objects made to blend in (the torches and flags)
