Mega Event

Is it possible to Mod/remove some them

I like many Mega events they really do make the game fun with constantly changeing things, but when I spend tons of tech on fast ships and then all the sudden the max speed is 5, well on an Immense map thats just a joke!

I am looking for some way to turn off that particualr megaevent while keeping the rest. I have searched through file after file and can't find these things anywhere.

Could someone please help in this?
