program bug

when i come to a ship combat scene the computer slows down to about 1 frame every 2 min (extremely slow).
I tried to download the last driver for my video and sound card and the patch 1.03 but that did not help.
Anyone had that problem to and how did you fix it ?

I remember someone else having this problem, but I don't remember what he ended up doing to fix it.  Upgrading his drivers may have been successful, or re-installing Gal Civ.

If you don't have DirectX 9.0a, you could try upgrading to that.

Also, you could try defragmenting your hard drive.  I'd need to know more of your system information before making further suggestions.

I vaguely remember someone having trouble playing Gal Civ on their laptop because of the drivers for their pointing device.
