Registering without opening the box

I'm planning on buying the Collector's Edition, and I'd like to not have to open the box but instead keep it in a nice, safe place. I know that I can download the game if I register it through Impulse, but can I register the game without opening the box?

Since the only way to get the CE is directly through Stardock (in most cases), you'll actually get it registered automatically when you buy it, and the serial will also get sent to your e-mail addy. So you won't need to open the box. :)
