Changing Player Names in Mid-Game?

Hi,

I am currently playing a long-term epic multiplayer game on SoaSE with a friend, and I would like to know, can we change our player names in the SoaSE player settings and still load up our multiplayer save files?  Or would we have to start an entirely new game after changing our player names?

If you change your player name, you can still load your old saved games.

But, atleast in single player, the game will still use the name you started with for that game. I assume multiplayer is no different.

Ok, say you start a new game in single player, and save...

Then you change, your name, your new name will be used in the next new game

and your old game will have your old name...

 

I don't know about Multi-player (I like single-player more), I assume if different since your name would be tied to your account
