I just started a blog about Video Game Betas and I was hoping to document my Demigod beta as my first subject. I would, once a week, make a post targeting a specific element of the game, one of the heroes for example, and say what I like, what I don't like, etc.

But please, don't get me wrong. I'd still be part of the beta and the community. I've spent hours reading up on the game and surfing the forum and I love what is going on here. I'd still make posts here and help beta the game. Consider the blog more of a subjective fansite, if you will.

But there is a point to this post, I promise.

1. I know that in the internet today, i can blog/post/review anything I want without permission as a general rule. The reason why I’m writing this, however, is out of respect to the community as well as the admin. I just wanted to say "Hey, guys, this is what I intend" and see if you guys condone it (admin and community), support it, hate it, or don't even care. I want to do this right, I want to do this thoroughly, and i don't want to fight/offend the community in any way.

2. I haven't downloaded the beta yet and, therefore, have not seen the terms of agreement. In short, is there anything that I should watch out about when I post? Is there anything that I shouldn't talk about during the beta that you want to keep a secret? Am I even allowed to blog about the beta?

That’s pretty much what I wanted to say and ask. Thank you to all of you in advance. I hope to see you in game!

Sounds like great fun. I am curious what the url is for your blog. I would maybe wait for beta 3 before you start blogging. I heard that beta3 should be much more stable and give a better perspective about the end game. We are now in Beta2 atm.

both 1 and 2 are fine but before u think its a bad game first know we have only done major things about gameplay and balancing has yet to come. Things are a little overpowered and overpriced sometimes or vice versa. Also i agree dodnt start till beta 3 because thats when balancing's supposed to start. Stardock is trying to make internet connection extremely good by setting it up differntly so interenet connection isn't the best because they havn't finished perfecting it but they hope to do so soon. This is an actual beta were u test things and improve it contrary to popular beleif that beta's are for an early look at a game.

Hi Jordan,

There are no NDAs so you are free to blog about any and all aspects of the game. 

You should definitely keep in mind that according to the CEO of Stardock, Brad Wardell, Stardock Betas are traditionally rough right up until release, so take it all with a grain of salt. 

If you need tips on gameplay there are some helpful stickies and fan sites, but you can always just ask in the forums as well.

Hey Guys!

Thanks for the input.  I really do appreciate it. And thank you Ke5trel, I'm excited to join the community. I'm really gunning to make this something worthwhile. And don't worry, I do not intend to slander the game, in fact, I'm really excited about it. I've heard some really good things about Stardock from articles I’ve read. I know its a beta and I set out to break down my experiences with te game to help make it better. I'm looking to document my beta of the game and explore elements of it at the same time. Its kind of hard to explain what i'll be talking about, but I think you'll get the idea once i start posting.

I also do agree with starting on Beta 3, though, at the same time, I do really want to talk about gameplay. Since beta 3 is roughly a week away, I suppose I'll wait on the third beta. I want to get posting though, so I was going to do some posts on some of the information from Demigod site and fansites. I'm planning to have my first post on Demigod up Wednesday, and invite everyone to check it out! I'll also post the blog in the fansite post.

I'll link the site once I have my first post!

I hope you guys will enjoy reading it, because I know I’m going to enjoy writing it!

Otherwise, I think your blog got the point across well for the general idea of Demi. Keep up the good work =)
