[Ideas] Expansive, open-terran maps

Tough i love the uniqueness and the artistry of DG's maps, another type of map that i would like to suggest are a simple broad ground maps, akin to a classic RTS. this map should be as the scope of maps from Supreme Commander, this provides minions and demigods extra room to move around, and battles could be fought on a broad open space instead of getting cramped up on most,if not all exsisting DG's map.

any more enhancement for my idea?

I would love to see 1 map like this to see if it works.  The problem I see with this is as the game is currently designed, it would take forever to get to the other side and move around, this would make the game take forever and things to be a lot more boring.  However, everyone seems to want this, so if they did one map like this it might solve the problem and since we would all test it finally we would know who was right.  To me, as much as I normally like gigantic maps (way over sized maps in every rts I play), this just won't work in this game.

It would be interesting to see how a large open map would play.  The main issue is that due to technical limitations, all maps must be flat, so a large flat area could end up rather boring.  Still, it would be something worth trying once I think.

i dont think it would belong in a game like this. big maps will just prolong enemy encounters meaning extra time is wasted just to look for someone to kill. This could be tweaked by having several "semi-bosses" within the map or just way more spawns of enemy creeps.

its an idea so alot of thought needs to go into it.

Coming from SC/FA, Demi's maps feel tiny!

 

It would be really nice to get some larger, open maps; maybe with special "conditions" or terrain differences.

(ex, swamp areas where movement speed and line of sight are lowered).
